Why I began to blog

I've been thinking about starting a blog for quite a while, mostly because I have a high opinion of my opinions on a variety of subjects. It's not like I'm stuck on myself or anything, but how else is the rest of the world going to take notice of me? I'm just a regular guy that's had a challenging life so far. All the ambition and striving for greatness with the frustration of an invisible life in a media- and celebrity-focused society has turned my attention to the possibility of using the internet as a way to reach out. I hope a lot of people read my postings. Not only because I hope to influence the way we as a society think and act, but also to be an inspiration to others out there who have good ideas and opinions. We need more of that kind of democratic participation in all areas of civilization.
